A complete hand-embroidered textile bound journal with raw edges for you to appreciate the beauty of this textile as it gently ages. The edges will fray only during the initial use and over time settle into an even and unique look, deepening in its character.

The edges are kept raw by design to expose the materiality of the natural textile which composes the journal. Layers of breathable cotton is hand-quilted by expert craftsmanship with fine ply of pure cotton threads. Without any tool or formal measurement, the patterns are made free-hand guided only by the artisan senses, each displaying its own unique/personalized motif language and color play.  

To give you an ease of usage, the journal has a distinct open-spine binding. This allows you to effortlessly flatten the book for an uninterrupted writing and sketching across the pages. Despite its apparent incompleteness, the open-spine binding is very durable and the technique is more laborious and engages complex hand-skill and precision. 

Pages are 120gsm hi-quality smooth, sturdy & the perfect ivory for versatile mediums like pencil, pastel, charcoal, ink, etc.

The use of appropriate materials like textile, cardboard and natural components like cotton fabric & cotton threads makes this journal biodegradable. The only plastic we have used is the individual shrink wrapping which is essential to protect the product and guarantee its 
freshness until last mile.
